We are thrilled to present a new chapter in Ruben Void's Opus called
‘La Guerre Des Machines’ which translates to ‘The War of the Machines’ in English. This will be Ruben´s third release here on Oval and we are very happy and proud to be sharing his latest work.

This album is a deeper dive into the listener's own Self, a journey that raises questions about the nature of the post-industrial society we are facing. It is an emotional rollercoaster of high hopes and dark concerns for our future as a human race. A reflection of Ruben's own interest in philosophy and the future path of humanity. La Guerre Des Machines is a meditative yet haunting industrial ritual, Music for techno shamanism.


We here at oval asked Ruben to share some insights from the process of making this album.

“The album titled 'La guerre des Machines' explores the relation humanity has with technology and the psychological ramifications it entails. The album eventually took over a year to complete although the bulk of the content manifested itself in a few weeks time somewhere in the fall of 2021. The creation process involved a lot of resampling and recycling of improvised tracks and drone generations using wavetable synthesis and granular technology. Melodies have been mostly played in midi but later quantized and mangled trough a myriad of effects. The beats often explore a more tribal interpretation of the use of 808 kicks similar to 'Meta-Materials' Album. Exploring an industrial and distorted feel to the sound hence the concept of war and machines. Still there are threads of hope and emotion.
