“Have you ever had that dream? You know ... the one where you come upon a door? Maybe it's plum-rusted metal, or finely carved wood, or lipstick-red lacquer, or ermine-white fur, but there it is, in your dream ... the door ... beckoning. The temptation is great to pass through it. But so is your trepidation. And in that moment between "Why not?" and "No way!" the strange thing creaks opens, pulling you into a slow motion eternity of vanishing gravity and fractal logic. The sights drift by, dimly lit, softly glowing, blue-black silhouetted, in a surreal array of locks and keys and shortwave radios and verdigris neptune bells. And the sounds float too from a vast weightless space beyond reason and rhyme ... and all this time, since before time began, those sounds have come from three flickering stars in an unmapped constellation called Mana Pool. Mana Pool is the sound of worlds being born, transmitting voltage and sine waves and clangour across the synaptic galaxies into the shape of the dream you've been having since you first started dreaming. You know ... the one where you come upon a door.”
